A Sacred Milestone: First Holy Communion at St. Anne’s Parish
On Saturday, May 4th, at noon Mass, the church was filled with joy, reverence, and the soft shimmer of white as thirteen young souls stepped forward to receive Jesus Christ in the Holy Eucharist for the very first time. It was a sacred milestone not only for these children but also for their families, catechists, and the entire St. Anne’s Parish community, which has supported them on their faith journey.
Dressed in radiant white dresses and crisp suits, each child approached the altar with a heart full of anticipation and awe. Fr. Emmanuel Otuosoruchi Agu beautifully presided over the celebration, reminding everyone of the deep meaning of this sacrament: a personal encounter with Christ, who gives Himself to us in love and humility.
The ceremony was more than a tradition—it was a profound moment of grace. As each child received the Body of Christ, a new chapter in their spiritual life began, one centered on the Eucharist and a growing relationship with Jesus.
Families beamed with pride, some with tears in their eyes, witnessing this beautiful sign of God’s presence in their children's lives. Parishioners joined in prayer and thanksgiving, offering support and blessings as these First Communicants continued their walk in faith.
We extend our warmest congratulations to our First Communicants and their families. May this day remain a cherished memory, and may the love of Christ continue to nourish and guide them throughout their lives.
Please keep them in your prayers so they may always find joy and strength in the Eucharist.
“Jesus said to them, ‘I am the bread of life. Whoever comes to me will never hunger, and whoever believes in me will never thirst.”
